Geometric Calibration – Boresighting
Accurate geometric calibration is a must for parametric direct geocoding. The so-called ‘boresighting’ process is crucial to achieve sub-pixel geometric accuracies.
Versatile Boresighting Options
The boresighting process can be performed by various processes. Typically, it can be achieved by cross-pattern flights or by dedicated geometric calibration flights. Stable instruments have to be re-calibrated only, if the sensor system and its Inertial measurement unit (IMU) are detached from each other.
